Hi there!
My name is Emma Joy James (James-Maloney as of 27-10-2018) and I am The Alternate Librarian.
I'm an avid reader and internet junkie with a multimedia background and I recently completed a library and information services course at Victoria University. I aim to work in a face to face community environment while maintaining a strong online presence.
I will be using this blog to document my journey.
But first things first.
Why 'The Alternate Librarian'?
Because I'm a little different to anything the industry has seen before. I'm a customer service superstar with lip rings and ripped tights, well read and well educated with a digital media obsession.
I'm classic literature and heavy metal.

I will be combining interesting links with personal reflections, original stories, and book reviews.
Each post will be given a number of LABELS, which will form the main navigation of the site.
The labels can be found in the column to the right. Clicking one will filter the blog posts so you will only see content relevant to that label.
