Auran awoke moments before the sun, somehow refreshed despite a distinct lack of slumber. The early birds were testing muted voices in the pre dawn light, while the rest of the world slept on. The blonde listened to the quiet refrain and watched the beautiful man sleeping next to him, for a time. It should be illegal, Auran thought, for anyone to look that good, sprawled out and asleep on blood red sheets, the smooth expanse of tawny skin just begging to be tasted. He was only human, after all, how was he expected to resist such temptation?
Cedric stirred and shifted in his sleep, drawing the icy gaze to the thin crimson material pooled in his lap, and the thick, hard cock barely concealed beneath. Auran couldn't help the wicked grin that curled his lips as he thought of the perfect way to wake the man. His long blonde hair escaped its tie during the night so Auran pulled the silky length over his shoulder and out of the way before he leant over and nuzzled Cedric's erection through the sheet. Pale blue eyes flicked to the brunette's sleeping face as he pulled the sheet aside and lowered his mouth to the man's cock.
Dark eyelashes fluttered against his cheeks, eyes slowly opening, as Auran's mouth brought Cedric awake. He mumbled something incoherent, hips shifting, fingers clumsily stroking the blonde's hair. Auran was merciless, trying to bring Cedric to the edge as swiftly as possible, and it didn't take long. He came with a hoarse cry, eyes closed and head tipped back.
Auran took every bit of seed, swallowing around Cedric, tongue swiping the last
drops from the tip as he lifted his head.
"Good morning..." He purred.
Cedric grunted, motionless, but opened his eyes.
"Good morning...WAIT!" He sat up, alarmed "What time is it?"
"Early" Auran stretched out beside him "But you'll need to hurry if you don't want my sister to suspect anything."
Cedric threw himself out of bed and began to collect his scattered clothing, mumbling under his breath about ambassadors and breakfast meetings and poor, overworked knights.
He paused, one sock on, admiring the man stretched out naked and gorgeous before him. It would be a crime not to taste those luscious lips one last time, so Cedric climbed astride the blonde and claimed his mouth in a hard kiss, full of tongue and teeth. He came up for air only when a pair of wicked hands slipped under his shirt, intending to distract him further, but unfortunately he had places to be. He kissed the backs of Auran's hands and slipped out of reach.
"We'll talk later." He promised, and left.
--
"Hold still, you pest!"
"Miss Perry, that is no way to speak to a lord of my standing."
"Such a 'lord' would surely not fuss like a child."
The blonde gasped dramatically.
"You wound me."
"Hardly." She stabbed the last pin into place with, what felt like to Auran, unnecessary force "There. What do you think?"
Auran studied his reflection critically, turning his head to admire the delicate braids securing the hair back from the left side of his face, leaving his sharp jawline, and the love bites on his throat, in plain view.
"Perfect" He turned in his seat "As always."
He reached for the dark haired girl but she stepped back, smacking one hand away with the wooden brush.
"I've no more time for your nonsense this morning. And you'll be late for breakfast."
Auran turned back to the mirror to fuss with his appearance some more, making sure the bruises around his eye were hidden with makeup. He wanted to avoid questions, and gossip, though he left the love bites visible to tease Cedric. And he did have a certain reputation to uphold, after all.
Time to go.
-
Breakfast was served on a secluded terrace, and all were in attendance, allowing Auran to make an entrance. The blonde swaggered through the double doors, gold trim on his tunic sparkling in the early morning sun.
"Good morning, sweet sister." He bent to kiss her pale cheek, ignoring the barely perceptible narrowing of her eyes in speculation. He continued on, lifting his pale gaze to wink at Cedric who stood guard some feet away. To his credit, the brunette merely blinked.
Auran smiled slightly and turned to the ambassador's dining companions.
"Lord Maxwell" He inclined his head at the middle aged man clad in an abundance of silk and fur. No wonder the man's face was red, he must be sweltering.
"My lady Anne..." Auran held out both hands to the petite blonde Lady Maxwell, kissing her rings and slender, gloved knuckles.
"That's Lady Maxwell to you." Lord Maxwell protested.
"Come now David, don't fuss." Lady Anne gently chided her husband, smiling up at the rakish blonde "Lord Starfire meant no offense."
"Never!" Auran declared, seating himself next to Lady Maxwell.
"Dear brother. I wasn't aware you would be joining us...?" Aura lifted her goblet of orange juice to hide her amusement.
"You wound me."
"Hardly." She stabbed the last pin into place with, what felt like to Auran, unnecessary force "There. What do you think?"

"Dear brother. I wasn't aware you would be joining us...?" Aura lifted her goblet of orange juice to hide her amusement.
"Yes I see that, and pray, forgive the intrusion." He leant back as a place was hurriedly set for him, looking not the least bit concerned that he had, in fact, intruded.
"Think nothing of it" His sister waved one manicured hand in dismissal "It is quite fortuitous really, Lord Maxwell was just telling me about the new vineyards he acquired, and I know you have a vested interest in viticulture."
A what now? Auran quirked an eyebrow at his sister, but didn't miss a beat.
"Of course."
Lord Maxwell scowled at the blue eyed blonde for a moment longer, but his enthusiasm for what was clearly a passion project seemed to swiftly overtake his personal dislike for the man.
"Yes, well... Are you familiar with Novian grape strains?"
Auran scoffed, making a mental note to murder his sister at his earliest convenience.
"Isn't everyone?"
Lord Maxwell merely laughed.
"Quite." He beamed at Auran "My scientists have been hard at work for some time now, and it is my belief they will soon have it." He leaned forward. "Imagine. A frost resistant grape."
Auran blinked.
"Amazing." He supplied.
"Remarkable!" His sister cut in, taking the conversation in hand once more.
Auran let the rest of the talk wash over him while he helped himself to the food and drink, making sure to wink at Lady Maxwell the third time he caught her watching him. The lady flushed and hid a small smile behind her hand.
Eventually Lord Maxwell talked himself out and the pair bid their goodbyes. Auran watched them go then propped his feet up on the table, tilting his chair back. His sister frowned at his booted feet among the dishes but said nothing.
"Care to enlighten me?" Auran prompted.
The ambassador idly traced the rim of her glass with one finger.
"Just making sure your wits are still sharp."
"Well thanks" Auran scoffed "But you needn't worry on that account."
"It seems not. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt you to have a few more friends at court."
Aura looked him over, nodding to the marks on his neck.
"Whose wife did you defile this time?"
"Nobody's -wife-, and I could do without friends like that tosser."
"David Maxwell is a highly respected member of the Novian court." Her tone was chastising, but she smiled, knowing full well how her brother felt.
"You should hang out with cool people, like that demon."
Aura stiffened.
"Ambassador Veritas is... Unique."
"She's totally smitten." Cedric supplied with a cheeky grin.
"I am not."
"They're having dinner."
"Cedric!"
"What?" his grin widened. "It's true."
"And my -brother- doesn't need to know."
"Oh, no" Auran grinned back, his feet hitting the ground with a dull thud "Your brother definitely needs to know."
"No" The ambassador said firmly "You don't. Now go find someone else to annoy, I have work to do." By which she meant she intended to quietly finish her breakfast and sort through an ever present pile of correspondence.
Auran continued to smile, but he obediently got to his feet. This was information that he fully intended to use against her at some point in the near future, and while he would never jeopardise her place in the foreign court, it was his sacred duty as her brother to embarrass his sister as much as possible. He took his duty very seriously.
